Makgeolli is a drink with a taste I can only describe as somewhere between sake, beer, Sprite and milk - but unlike that combination, it’s not gross. It’s pretty good, has a booze content between beer and wine, and a liter bottle will set you back around $5 here, even at a nice restaurant that focuses on the drink. Like this place that just opened in my neighborhood. They serve the drink out of that bottle with the feminine curves, and fried Korean pancakes known as “jeon” go quite well with it.
